Dylan O’Brien and others will attend Wondercon to promote and support the new Maze Runner film franchise.

20th Century Fox has announced in their Wondercon press release that Dylan O’Brien, James Dasher (writer), and Wes Ball (director) will be attending press events to represent The Maze Runner at the convention.

We reported earlier that The Maze Runner franchise would be attending Wondercon this year in some sort of fashion. After patiently waiting for more details to surface, we now know who to expect at the event.

The specifics of what might be discussed or shown at the April 19, 12:45 pm movie panel are still unknown. However, this does give us a clearer idea of who should be in attendance.

When the 20th Century Fox film The Maze Runner was pushed back from its February release to September 19, the studio claimed it was to spend more time promoting the film. We’ve already learned that promotion for the film will include a stop by San Diego Comic-Con this summer, and now we can add another convention to the list: WonderCon.

Author James Dashner, who wrote the trilogy of books the upcoming film is based on, revealed the details of the panel on his website appearances. A panel for WonderCon is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at 12:45 PM:

[UPDATE] Comic-Con International’s official schedule lists the 20th Century Fox presentation beginning at 1:15, so expect the panel to be in that block.

Although Dashner offered no details about which cast members would be attending the convention, the film stars Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones, Love Actually), and several other young stars. We’ve heard positive things from sources about O’Brien attending the panel, and expect some combination of other stars there as well — though we’ll know more when CCI posts the completed programming schedule, likely sometime later this week.

Also confirmed for SDCC is 20th Century Fox film The Maze Runner, the upcoming film based on the James Dashner young adult series. The film was originally slated for last month (and it even appeared at Nerd HQ during last summer’s SDCC), but was pushed back to September19, 2014.

Lead actor Dylan O’Brien, best known for appearing in Teen Wolf, told Hypable last fall that the move will allow them to appear at San Diego Comic-Con in a much bigger way for 2014:

“We get to do Comic-Con San Diego next year, which we wouldn’t have gotten to do otherwise, so that’ll be good too.”

We’ve also been hearing that it’s very possible we’ll be seeing the film and O’Brien at WonderCon next month.
