Dylan O’Brien, who shot to fame playing Stiles Stilinski on MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” is opening up about not joining Paramount Plus’ upcoming film revival of the hit television series.

“It was a difficult decision. A lot went into it,” O’Brien told me earlier today while promoting his new movie “The Outfit” (more on that later). “The show couldn’t be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did I and so many people there are extremely dear to me. It was something I was trying to make work but it all happened very fast. We didn’t really know that it was happening and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show. We were trying to figure it out.” [Source]

Paramount+ has ordered a Teen Wolf movie revival, and talks are underway with the original cast to return for the one-off film. Additionally, franchise creator Jeff Davis — who is shepherding the pic — is also developing a new Teen Wolf-themed series for MTV titled Wolf Pack. MTV Studios is producing both projects.

Here’s the logline for Teen Wolf Movie: “A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. Dylan O’Brien has joined the cast of the upcoming feature satire “Not Okay.”

Star of “The Maze Runner” and “Love and Monsters,” O’Brien joins previously-announced leading lady Zoey Deutch in the project from writer-director Quinn Shephard. Brad Weston and Negin Salmasi’s Makeready are producing the film, which will premiere exclusively on Disney’s DTC platforms (Hulu in the U.S., and globally on Star).

With shooting already underway in New York City, “Not Okay” follows a misguided young woman desperate for friends and fame, who fakes a trip to Paris to up her social media presence. When a terrifying incident takes place in the real world and becomes part of her imaginary trip, her white lie becomes a moral quandary that offers her all the attention she’s wanted. [Source]

Paramount has decided that the Dylan O’Brien movie Love and Monsters ne Monster Problems isn’t going to hit the big screen, rather PVOD on Oct. 16.

The pic’s previous theatrical release date was Feb. 12, 2021.
